In honor of Women's History Month, this high-profile annual March event brings nationally known speakers and leaders to Columbus to advance the dialogue around women’s issues, challenges, and opportunities.

In 2011, WELD embarked on an exciting journey with renewed focus to bring change to the landscape of leadership in Central Ohio and with it the financial prosperity to our professional community that comes when Boards of Directors and senior leadership teams include more women in their ranks.  With the release of the
Central Ohio Leadership Census (COLC) at the 2011 Keynote, we provided Central Ohio with a scorecard to see where we are and what areas we must focus on to achieve this goal.  Join us at the 2012 Keynote for the release of the first update to the COLC numbers, including the presenting of awards to two of Central Ohio's companies doing their part to ensure women are advancing to these key leadership positions.  We're excited to host our 2012 Keynote Speaker, Patricia Sellers of FORTUNE magazine, to shed light on what we can do as individuals and a community to support this effort.

As Editor-at-Large for FORTUNE magazine, Pattie Sellers has written some of FORTUNE’s most talked-about cover stories.  Every year since its launch in 1998, Sellers has been FORTUNE’s point editorial person on its annual “Most Powerful Women in Business” package.  MPWomen is now FORTUNE’s second-largest franchise, after the FORTUNE 500.

A specialist at dissecting larger-than-life personalities, she has also profiled former U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, various prominent investors, and countless FORTUNE 500 CEOs.  Her favorite subjects are powerful people who experience a dramatic life change and find new ways to use their power.

Sellers co-chairs the annual FORTUNE Most Powerful Women Summit, the premier gathering of women leaders in business, philanthropy, government, academia and the arts.  She also oversees the extensions of the MPW Summit, including: the FORTUNE-U.S. State Department Global Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership, the National Math + Science Young Leaders Program and Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs initiative.

Sellers grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia, and started at FORTUNE in 1984.  Her blog, Postcards, is about how power players do it -- how they lead, manage and navigate their careers.
