The Women for Economic and Leadership Development (WELD) logo makes a strong visual statement about our heritage – the contribution of women! In utilizing Rosie the Riveter as part of our logo, we pay tribute to the women who challenged the traditional perception of women’s capabilities in the workplace and in society and worked at industrial jobs to help America win World War II.
Just as Rosie the Riveter and her colleagues broke new ground, our goal as members of Women for Economic and Leadership Development is to further the issues of economic development for women in central Ohio. Through its programs and services, WELD provides women with tools to enhance their individual economic status. In addition, WELD advocates for corporate strategy and public policy that support economic equality for women.
We respectfully thank Rosie and all the women who played a role in furthering women’s rights and equality for all, who inspire us to new heights today.
